Photo competition to showcase ‘Bayside Life’
The Bayside South Development Forum (BSDF) is calling on amateur photographers, young and old, to enter their photography competition and be in the running to feature in their 2015 calendar, showcasing the best of Wynnum and Manly.
The theme for the competition is ‘Bayside Life – the Wynnum Manly community’, with three age categories – children (up to 12 years), teenager (13 -18 years) and adults (over 18 years).
Bayside South Development Forum President, Dorinda Baar said the competition was a good opportunity for the local community to interpret their meaning of the ‘Bayside Life’ and highlight through photographs what makes this area a great place to live.
“We often see beautiful photographs of the Wynnum Jetty and Manly Harbour, it would be good to see other interpretations as well of the local community such as the diverse range of shops, local identities and the many beautiful Queenslander homes.”
She said the competition was a good opportunity for budding photographers to have their work published and something to add to their portfolio.
“The winning photographs will be used by BSDF to illustrate a 2015 calendar with all photographs credited and distributed in the local community.”
The competition will run until 30th September 2014 and is open to amateur photographers in all locations, but photos must be of locations within the 4178 and 4179 postcode areas.
Those interested in entering the competition will need to fill in an entry form and submit up to three photographs on the Bayside South Development Forum website – http://bsdf.org/photo-competition
