NAIDOC/Kunjiel Fun Day Sat 22 July

Wynnum based group Winnam and the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation are together hosting the NAIDOC Kunjiel Family Fun Day on Saturday 22 July 2017 as part of the annual Quandamooka Festival.

The event will be held at the Wynnum Wading Pool on the Wynnum foreshore from 10am until around 8pm. It is open to the general public and will be a family friendly, alcohol and drug free event.

The Quandamooka Festival* is a unique opportunity to learn more about the sands, seas, lakes, creeks, catchments and creatures found across the Redlands/Moreton Bay islands from the Quandamooka peoples perspective as well as participate in a whole range of activities and events including whale watching cultural tours, Kunjiels (corroborees), Indigenous sports, eco boat tours, art, weaving, bush tucker dinning experiences, speaker’s forums and symposiums and collaborations with First Nations peoples from around the world.

quandamooka festivalThe Fun Day will showcase Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander dancers, arts and crafts, information stalls, food and drink and a range of fun activities suitable for all ages.
