Our occasional column devoted to what’s going on in Wynnum from a business perspective.
Wynnum Business welcomes more new members
Our most recent new members are Studio Yellow, who run art therapy classes and courses, and the new barber shop in Edith Street Cut ‘N’ Edge. Find out a little more about them on the Wynnum Business Member Directory. Plus of course you can find them on the newly revamped Business Directory on this site and on the WynnumCentral app.
Active Hire Hemmant to host next Wynnum Business after work business/networking meeting next Monday 5th June
If you own or run a business based in the Wynnum area and would like to meet other local business people, learn from a speaker who gives what we call a ‘microtalk’ (15 minutes) on some aspect of business and find out a little more about what Wynnum Business does, you should come along to our next meeting on Monday 5th June (6pm-8pm).
Our speaker at the meeting will be PwC (PriceWaterhouseCoopers) Director Matthew Dunstan (pictured below) who will talk on ‘Purpose Led Leadership’.
Our hosts, Active Hire, will also be demonstrating some of their hire equipment and you’ll have a chance to try some of it out (think bobcats, cherrypickers etc).
There’s still time (just) to book in…

Tickets cost $25 (but members get in for just $5!)
Tourism in the Bayside Thursday 8th June (4.15pm-6pm)
with Hon Kate Jones MP, Minister for Tourism, Major Events & Commonwealth Games (pictured above) and Joan Pease MP
This will be a ‘discussion about tourism, digital marketing and opportunities for small business’.
Wynnum Business will be attending and if you would like to attend as well please RSVP directly to the Lytton Electorate Office by 4pm Tuesday 6th June on 07 3915 1100 or by email lytton@parliament.qld.gov.au.
This could be a great opportunity to see how Wynnum can benefit, particularly from the Commonwealth Games in April next year.
