So what’s happening?
We don’t know everything, but this is what we do know…
Music
Yep, there’ll be some of that:
- The QSHBA rock band will be playing outside the Wynnum Community Centre in Florence Street (next door to Woolworth’s) 6pm-8pm
- The Bayside Youth Band will be playing in various spots from 6pm
- Bay Samba is playing outside RE/MAX (on the corner of Edith Street and Bay Terrace)
- The Charlotte Street Jazz Band are playing outside The Eclectic Mix in Edith Street
- The Tasty Pocket in Bay Terrace will host music by Daniel J Lewis from 6pm
Fashion
- Sobidah Clothing Co. in Edith Street will be holding a fashion parade at 6:30pm with a special offer on the night
- Sonny Jim Menswear in Edith Street will be raffling off three John Lennon shirts (normally ~$160 each – see photo below) and two $50 vouchers to use for dinner at Cafe La Mer in Manly. All you have to do to go in the raffle is buy something at the shop
- Gail, the owner of Simply Bella in Bay Terrace will be marking her last day at the shop before handing over to the new owner – so we understand there might be a bit of a party
- As well as hosting The Charlotte Street Jazz Band, The Eclectic Mix in Edith Street will be hosting a popup sale of vintage jewellery from 5pm
Food
- Mandala VGF in Florence Street (opposite Woolworths on the other side of the street) will be holding a free ‘ Evening of Taste’ – all of their gluten free and plant-based foods will be available for you to taste from 5pm-8pm, with some specials available on their frozen meal range
- The Tasty Pocket in Bay Terrace will have takeaway and dine in available. And if you’re after something to eat as you browse the shop, check out their fried Halloumi takeaway cups
Fun
- The Wynnum Fringe will have a popup ticket office outside Sobidah and Edith Street Espresso 5pm-8pm – buy any ticket/s and go into a draw to win two tickets to ‘Taste Cabaret’ at the Spiegeltent in Bay Terrace (where the old church used to be if you remember) 26-29 September
- The Community Bank Wynnum Manly (Bendigo) will have a popup outside Orange Sherbet in Bay Terrace
‘Polaroid Girl’ will be wandering around with her picture frame to take photos of everyone having fun
And last but not least…
The Prize Hamper Draw
The prize is sitting at over $700 and all you need to do to be in the running to win is make a purchase in at least three shops
