Wynnum Central at night

Well if you haven’t noticed, it must be Christmas as the cutout Santas have started appearing around Wynnum. An initiative of the Rotary Club of Wynnum Manly, the (somewhat two dimensional) Santas are now on display around and about.

ian fry santaWynnumCentral was prompted to take some photos of the shops in Wynnum, many of which have lit up and decorated their window displays for the season.

One of things we think would brighten up Wynnum Central at night would be some bud lighting in the trees, which would be programmed to turn on after dark. What do you think of this idea? Do you think it would improve the streetscape after dark?

  1. Yes bud lighting in the trees of the main streets would be great. I think the Santas need to retired and replaced with something a bit more vibrant.

  2. How can we petition council to place solar powered led festoon lights in the trees lining the waterfront, like the gold coast? It’s great to see people enjoying the bay in the evenings. Lighting the trees would make it especially festive.
