Local entrepreneurs Matthew Dunstan and Mark Jones are launching a new co-working service for start-ups and home based professionals later this month.
Called 2nd Base, it is designed to give access to a network of work-friendly venues where people can escape the home office and work alongside likeminded people.
The service is a new take on co-working in that the guys are not setting up a purpose built office, but instead have negotiated for space and facilities in existing, attractive venues.
According to the founders, this allows them to provide a network of locations that members can utilise across the city whilst keeping the cost within reach ($49 per month for founding members).
Another innovation from 2nd Base is their “Members Platform”. Designed to facilitate advice, mentoring and trade amongst members, it also provides an online space to share project plans, tasks and documents.
Locally, the guys have teamed up with Keith’s on Cambridge as one of their founding venues and will be holding a launch event there on 26th February from 9.30am. They are inviting local professionals and entrepreneurs to ‘come to work’ on the day and take advantage of their two month free trial offer.
