Candidates Debate in Wynnum (this Wed 28th)

WynnumCentral will hold a Candidates Debate at 7pm this Wednesday 28th January at the Wynnum RSL Club in Tingal Road. Attendance is free of charge.

Eventbrite - WynnumCentral Candidates Debate

Come along and hear what the candidates for the seat of Lytton in the upcoming Queensland State Election have to say. The debate will focus on the Wynnum central shopping area, with the candidates being asked the question:

“What would you do if elected to help revitalise the Wynnum Central shopping area?”

Although questions will not be taken live from the audience, there is an opportunity in the registration process below to submit a question (ABC show Q&A style) to a candidate or the candidates in general, which you will be able to ask yourself during the debate.

We can accommodate up to 150 attendees. We look forward to seeing you there.

NOTE
We would have organised this earlier and let you know earlier (nobody’s given anyone much notice in this election!) but the Brisbane City Council Wynnum Municipal Hall, which was pencilled in until WynnumCentral called back to book and were told that it was not possible because we gave too little notice and the Municipal Hall was not available during the caretaker period for political events. Given this is a candidates debate and not a political rally, you’d have to wonder what a municipal hall is actually for, if not for debate about what should be happening in Wynnum? Plus the hall is a Council facility, not a State one. If anyone knows why these considerations come into play, please let us know!
